  1. INTRODUCTION

This policy describes the types of information WildCare (“we,” “our,” or “us”) may collect from you or that you may provide when you participate in our Virtual Camp through the website discoverwildcare.thinkific.com (our “Virtual Camp”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.  This privacy policy does not apply to WildCare’s primary website, discoverwildcare.org, or any website operated by third parties.

This policy does not apply to information collected by us offline or through any other means, or by any third party, including through any application or content that may link to or be accessible on the Virtual Camp.  Also, you may be subject to different privacy policies or terms of use for other virtual camps.

WildCare is committed to protecting your privacy.  Please read this policy carefully.  If any term in this policy is unacceptable to you, please do not participate the Virtual Camp or provide any personal information.  By accessing or participating in this Virtual Camp, you signify your acknowledgment of this privacy policy.  This policy may change from time to time (see Revisions to Our Privacy Policy below) and your participation in the Virtual Camp after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this policy periodically for updates.

  1. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

We collect several types of information from and about participants in our Virtual Camp, including information:

We collect this information:

Information You Give to Us.  The information we collect through our Virtual Camp may include:

Information We Collect About You.  We do not collect information about you automatically as you navigate through and interact with our Virtual Camp.  We do partner with a third party, Thinkific, to provide the platform for our Virtual Camp.  For more information about how Thinkific may collect information from you automatically as you engage with our Virtual Camp, we encourage you to review their privacy policy.

Information We Receive From Other Sources.  This is information we receive about you when we work with third parties (including, for example, third party intermediaries with whom we partner to provide you with services).

As we mentioned in the previous section, we partner with a third party, Thinkific, to provide the platform for our Virtual Camp.  Use of such third-party websites is subject to the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties.  WildCare does not control the use of this technology or the resulting information and is not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties.

  1. How We Use Your Information

We may use information collected about you, including personal information, in the following ways:

  1. Disclosure of Your Information

You agree that we have the right to disclose personal information that you provide or that we receive about you from our third party service providers as described in this privacy policy:

  1. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We do not use cookies to track our Virtual Camp participants within the Virtual Camp or across third party websites, nor do we share the information that you provide directly to us with third parties.  Because we do not track our participants, we do not respond to do-not-track signals.  If you wish to correct any information that you have provided to us directly or opt-out of any promotional or other e-mails from WildCare, please e-mail us at [email protected].  If we have sent you a promotional email, you may also unsubscribe from such communications by following the procedures described in the email.

Because a third party, Thinkific, provides the platform for our Virtual Camp, we encourage you to review their privacy policy to understand how they might track or disclose your information and what choices you have to opt-out of any tracking that they might perform.  See also the Third Party Websites section below.

  1. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

Where you have chosen a password that enables you to access our Virtual Camp, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.  The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Virtual Camp.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to WildCare; any transmission is at your own risk.

  1. Third-Party Websites

Our Virtual Camp software operates through Thinkific’s website, and is therefore outside of our control.  Please be aware that this privacy policy does not apply to Thinkific’s website or any other third party websites.  WildCare encourages you to read the privacy statements and terms and conditions of Thinkific’s website before you enter.  Thinkific’s and other third-party websites may send their own cookies and other tracking devices to you, log your IP address, and otherwise collect data or solicit personal information.  WILDCARE DOES NOT CONTROL AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THIRD PARTIES DO IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR WEBSITES, OR HOW THEY HANDLE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.  PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION AND CONSULT THE PRIVACY POLICIES POSTED ON EACH THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION

  1. Children Under the Age of 13

Our Virtual Camp is not intended for children under 13 years of age to use without supervision from someone who is 18 years of age or older.  The adult supervising the child must enroll in the Virtual Camp on behalf of the child and may choose to provide their own personal information.  At the time of enrollment, we require the supervising adult to verify that they are 18 years of age or older.

Typically, WildCare does not knowingly collect or use any personal information from children under the age of 13.  However, certain sections of our Virtual Camp are made available to children under the age of 13 solely for educational purposes and may collect personal information from children under the age of 13.  Children under the age of 13 should always ask their parents or guardians for permission before providing any personal information online.  We suggest that parents and guardians participate in their children's online activities and use parental control or other web filtering technology to supervise children's access to the internet.

Additionally, WildCare may receive personal information about children under the age of 13 from their parents or guardians at the time of enrollment.  For more information about how WildCare may collect or receive personal information from children under the age of 13 during their participation in our Virtual Camp, please contact us at [email protected]
